This was not how Jozy Altidore wanted it to end.

The young American forward walked off the field at the KC Stadium Saturday trying to hide his face in shame.

Altidore was sent off in first half stoppage time after a tiff with Sunderland defender Allan Hutton, likely ending his career with Hull City, or at least with the team still a member of a Premier League. Sunderland’s 1-0 win coupled with West Ham’s 3-2 victory over Wigan Athletic all but doom the Tigers back down to the Championship with only two games remaining.
