The West Indies Cricket Board has been nominated to host the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. The three countries in West Indies will be hosting the competition on 2010 are Guyana, St. Lucia and Barbados. They will be hosting all the total of 27 matches. The series will be played in same format as in 2009 T20 World Cup. The finals on May 16 2010 will be hosted by Barbados. The ICC now officially accepted the West Indies board’s recommendation that the 2010 World Twenty20 be held in Barbados, Guyana, and St. Lucia. This T20 Word cup is schedule to begin from April 30 and final will play on May 16. This Tournament is about to run for 19 days. T20 World cup of 2010 will be the 3rd Edition. The first edition was hosted by South Africa in 2007 and then England on 2009. India and Pakistan were the champions in the respective years of 2007 and 2009.

The all 10 ODI teams will automatically qualify for the tournament. Still two more teams are undecided for the tournament and this time Zimbabwe will also have their comeback since they were not playing in England on 2009 due to politics reason.

Group Division:

Group A: Pakistan (A1), Bangladesh (A2), Australia

Group B: Sri Lanka (B1), New Zealand (B2), Zimbabwe

Group C: South Africa (C1), India (C2), Qualifier One

Group D: West Indies (D1), England (D2), Qualifier Two
