There was a chance for the final day of the 2009-10 Premier League season to turn into two hours fraught with drama and anticipation.
Chelsea went into the weekend with a one-point gap over second place Manchester United and in a season filled with eyebrow-raising results, maybe, just maybe Wigan Athletic would find a way to trip up the Blues at Stamford Bridge putting a final exclamation point on the year.
Instead, any chances of drama went out the window after six minutes when Nicolas Anelka scored, opening up a deluge for Chelsea as they strode to their first title since the 2005-06 season with a stylish 8-0 victory.
