If the curtain comes down on the 2009-10 Premier League season on May 9 with Chelsea atop the table, most will point to Saturday’s 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford as the day the Blues won the title.
Chelsea continued its mastery of its other members of the so-called, “Big Four”, picking up its fifth victory in five matches this season against Arsenal, Liverpool and United. Saturday’s win pushed the Blues atop the table with 74 points, two clear of United and six of third-place Arsenal, who played later in the day. Each will have five games left at the end of Saturday.
