TORONTO — Most of the members of the Colorado Rapids don’t have much to say, or much to answer for, when asked about the club’s title drought.
They haven’t slogged through all the seasons of mediocre records and mediocre attendances.
They haven’t felt the frustration associated with playing for the only ever-present team in Major League Soccer that failed to qualify for an MLS Cup or U.S. Open Cup final in the 2000s.
They haven’t been forced to watch as clubs in other cities became relevant, while theirs struggled to draw respectable crowds.
The Rapids with the second, third and fourth longest tenures with the club, Omar Cummings, Conor Casey and Kosuke Kimura, came to Denver in 2007, the year the franchise opened Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
