The Colorado Rapids are a good soccer team. Too bad the city of Denver hasn’t realized it.
A sparse crowd of just under 12,000 was on hand for the first playoff game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, and those that showed up were treated to a virtuoso performance from Rapids forward Omar Cummings. The swift and skillful Jamaican toyed with a tired-looking Columbus Crew side in a game the Rapids (13-8-10) should have won by a lot more than the 1-0 final score.
The second leg of the Eastern Conference semifinal series, which will be decided by total goals, will be Nov. 6 in Columbus.
