Irma Nici, the former prostitute who claimed to have slept with David Beckham in 2007, is countersuing the soccer star after he denied her published claims and took legal action against her, according to a report.
Nici’s attorney, Paul Rolf Jensen, reportedly filed suit on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing emotional and physical injuries.
Nici claims that she was “hounded” by a process server who came to her New York hotel room with Beckham’s lawsuit last week. Nici’s suit alleges that the 26-year-old was hospitalized as a direct result of the incident.
According to the Daily News article, Jensen noted, “Beckham is responsible for his goon’s conduct, and we will hold him liable for it.”
“California law does not allow public figures like David Beckham to stifle free speech,” Jensen added. “Maybe he didn’t live here in Los Angeles long enough to learn how precious we here consider our rights to tell the truth in print.”
