Midfielder Clint Dempsey will not require surgery on the right knee he injured over the weekend and he’s expected back on the field before the end of the Premier League season, Fulham announced Tuesday.

That’s good news for U.S. coach Bob Bradley, who doesn’t have to devote the next five months to agonizing over how he’ll replace one of his most creative and versatile attackers in South Africa.
