As the calendar ticks closer and closer to June’s World Cup, many American fans have spent plenty of time wringing their hands wondering whether the team can recover from a bevy of injuries coupled with certain key players languishing on benches of across the stadiums of Europe.
U.S. fans looking for someone to commiserate with about these worries need only look across the border to the south, where it’s eternal soccer rival Mexico is dealing with similar issues.
Tuesday word came out that 20-year-old Mexican starlet Giovani Dos Santos was primed for a loan from Tottenham to Glatasaray, where he’d reunite with his former manager at Barcelona, Frank Rijkaard. (Dos Santos himself confirmed the move later Tuesday to Mexican radio.)
