Thierry Henry joining the New York Red Bulls seems to be one of those soccer rumors that’s been around so long that everyone just assumes one of these days the seemingly inevitable becomes a reality.
Last week there were various reports that the French star had inked a “pre-contract” to play for New York this summer, despite owning another year on his current deal with newly crowned La Liga champs Barcelona.
Monday, SI.com made the most declarative announcements yet, making it sound like a done deal, even posting the story on it’s front page.
