depends really on how much your drinking, eating and also how long your staying for?ya staying for the whole world cup?would be a cool idea to wrk a few hrs over there in a pub?its sure to be expensive because it will be so busy over there with people paying riduclous amounts on nothing.good luck with whatever ya choose to do.p.s be careful over there i know a south african and he said crime rate is really over there and they will rob ya blind if your not more than careful!!!

While I admire your enthusiasm for football and the World Cup, please take the advice of one who has ‘been there, done that’ etc., etc……..save your money and watch it on TV. Unless you are the offspring of very, very rich and indulgent parents, forget about attending the WC or any other like events (Olympics for example). They are pure and simply a complete rip-off. From the time you get your over-priced ticket, everything connected with such events are purely designed to gouge those attending. Food, transportation, accomodation, souvenirs….all are marked up as much as 300-500%, knowing full well you are a ‘mark’ and there for the taking. Sorry to be such a cynical ‘down-in-the-mouth’, but most people who have attended these over-hyped tournaments in the past 10 years, will tell you the same thing.

    9000$(to b frank!)

  4. reddevil Says:

Well the ticket will cost you $200 so i reckon with hotel costs plane costs(they are expensive if it is the world cup)food costs i will say about $8000 i know it is a lot of money but you have 3 years

Heyyy I’ll be 20 when I go to the WC too :D
I have no idea how much it’ll be but I’d save about 10 thousand at least, because tickets for each game are very expensive and the hotel and air… it’s all very expensive. I’m going to get a job at a big airline so I can get free flights there (hahaha I’m smart) so maybe you can try to get a job at a big airline just before?

  6. j12 Says:

probably way more than you think…and way more than a 16 year old could save.

  7. Lola P Says:

    At least $10 k’s

I did a quick check for a current, round trip airfare from Ottawa,Canada to Cape Town, South Africa = $3850.00 US. Add in your hotel room and ticket to the events Plus meals and any side trips for shopping etc. and you got rough guesstimite of your cost. You can scale up from economy to top of the line depending on your financial circumstances.
Recommend you read up on any travel books for South Africa for added value and ideas for when you are there. ;)
