COLUMBIA, S.C. — Mitt Romney is hitting back against attacks on his time at the helm of private equity firm Bain Capital.

The GOP presidential front-runner is rolling out a TV ad in South Carolina that argues that he helped create and run a company that invested in struggling businesses, grew new ones, and rebuilt old ones, creating thousands of jobs.
