The all-star game that arguably is the best in sports will reach a new high in July as a selection of Major League Soccer’s best players will face off against Manchester United on July 28 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium.
The league launched the foreign club format in 2003 against Chivas Guadalajara and has focused on British sides since then, welcoming (and defeating) the likes of Chelsea and Celtic. Although there was some sentiment toward inviting a Spanish or Latin American team for this year’s edition, it appears the world’s most famous club will have to suffice.
