PHILADELPHIA — Defender Oguchi Onyewu, who played 65 minutes last Tuesday against the Czech Republic in his first action in seven months but was beaten for a goal in the first half, has been left out of the starting lineup for the U.S. national’s team’s Saturday game against Turkey (2 PM ESPN2).
Clarence Goodson, a University of Maryland product who had an assist against the Czechs, will start in central defense instead alongside Jay DeMerit. DeMerit is recovering from a lower abdominal strain.
