PRINCETON, N.J. — Oguchi Onyewu has a message for the doubters, the cynics and the worriers who hold an opinion about his return from the ruptured patella tendon he suffered last October.
Sure, he hasn’t played a game in seven months. He didn’t even make the game-day roster for any AC Milan matches this spring. According to the imposing central defender, that doesn’t matter. Onyewu insisted Thursday that he’s not only ready to represent the United States in the upcoming World Cup, he said he’s a better player now as a result of the rehab and work he’s done since the injury.
