All the pregame buildup to Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League knockout round match between world giants Manchester United and AC Milan centered around David Beckham playing his first game against his former club and ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson since leaving the English giants in 2003.
Turned out the current Red Devils idol ended up stealing Beckham’s would-be thunder.
Wayne Rooney continued stating his case for the unofficial title of “world’s best soccer player” with a blistering second-half performance, which included a pair of headed goals to help Manchester United take a 3-2 lead back to Old Trafford for the return leg on March 10.
