French star Thierry Henry hasn’t given the New York Red Bulls too much bang for their 5.6 million bucks this season, and it doesn’t appear he’ll be contributing much as the postseason gets underway.

New York coach Hans Backe told Major League Soccer’s Web site on Tuesday that the right knee strain that sidelined Henry for the final two games of the regular season likely will keep out of the Red Bulls’ playoff opener on Saturday. New York will travel to San Jose for the first leg of its Eastern Conference semifinal series.

“He probably has too much pain to be involved in this Saturday’s game,” Backe said. “Looks like he’s probably out.”
