As the saying in England goes, “Fourth is the New First.”
At least that’s what fans of Tottenham and Manchester City continue to tell themselves, as they stare down the Premier League’s final berth in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
After both clubs won on Saturday, they’re set for a showdown on Wednesday when they meet at Eastlands. Tottenham retains a one-point advantage, sitting on 67 points after holding on to beat Bolton 1-0, while City are a point behind after coming from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-1, eliminating Villa from the fourth-place race in the process.
