I think it will be exciting as the world cup will move to a new continent. The World Cup has witnessed to some beautiful games produced by African nations such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast. It will be a huge boost for African football now that the World Cup is coming to their homaland. It will also be a test for the exisiting super powers such as Brasil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Engalnd, Holland as they have never played a World Cup game there b4. It will be interesting to see how these countries perform on the African soil.I am looking forward to it.

I think it’s great that the World Cup is going be in Africa for the first time. I think maybe some African underdog teams will perform better. I think being on African soil won’t affect the performance of the non-African teams though.
By the way, sorry I reacted the way I did earlier. I should have just ignored it instead of posting up what I said on your question. It’s just that I felt extremely offended, and I became angry, I guess like Zidane’s heatbutt, haha, I lost my temper. I just felt angry that you were judging me when you didn’t even know me. Thanks for your new post, and I hope now you realize I am not a stupid loser or reject.

Long overdue. This will be great for Africa, seeing as they will get to send 6 countries into the tournament as opposed to the 5 spots they ususlly get. (I always thoughtthat it was unfair that half the countries in the World Cup were from Europe)
I’ve started saving and plan to be in Jo’burg come 2010.

I’m excited already!! It will be an awesome experience. The flight itself will be something to talk about–if you enjoy travelling as much as I do! I’ve been hearing in diffrerent places that the South Africans won’t be ready to accomodate so many guests. I think 4 years is enough time–I hope it will be! And the African nations that will compete in the games should be proud of showing the rest of the world that their continent can throw a great “party” just like the other countries have done!

well i prefer it to be in europe because i would go there but i would never go to africa. and that sucks because the players i like probably wont be in 2014 games.
January 18th, 2010 at 1:56 pm
it will be exiting but i believe that european teams will have problems because of the heat in south africa.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:04 pm
yea, me too. the climate would probably bother them for a bit. coz of course they are not used to very hot weather. or is it very hot in south africa? not sure. but for sure, it would be a total change.
and african teams would probably have more confidence that they are playing on african soil. im am definitely looking forward to the nxt world cup! I CANT WAIT! i love the world cup! the most amazing tournament on earth!

I think there’s a lot of work to be done, there are still racial problems in that country and it’s not like it’s in Kenya as South Africa is very very different than say Ivory Coast or Congo. It really will be interesting though. What I don’t like though is that they’ve skipped the Americas again, it used to go Europe then Americas every other time. But Europe has held it twice since the Americas did in ‘94 (’98 France & ‘06 Germany) and then of course once in Asia (’02) and now Africa (’10). But it will be interesting and I do expect an African country to surprise someone, maybe Ivory Coast since Drogba is amazing. Personally though I don’t think it will be that big of a challenge for many countries….I still see Brazil as the favorite but you never know what will happen in the next 4 years.
